Common Buckeye, Junonia coenia — an original color pencil drawing reproduced as a giclée print.
The Common Buckeye is found across North and Central America, frequenting sunny, open areas with low-growing vegetation. It is best known for the striking eyespots on its wings, which serve as a defense against predators. Larvae feed on plantain (Plantago spp.) and cudweed (Pseudognaphalium spp.), low-growing plants common to disturbed and open habitats.
