We spotted this sloth high up in a tree at Manuel Antonio National Park, just south of Punta Quepos, Costa Rica. It was an experience of a lifetime. Costa Rica preserves more land per capita for conservation than any other country in the world. It is one of the most biodiverse places on the planet, and their main ambassadors are sloths.
This photograph captures the lush habitat, dappled light and the unhurried life of one of the rain forest's most beloved residents.
