Bouquet of Marigolds or ramo de cempasúchil is part of the Dia de los Muertos series. The drawing features a black clay vase decorated with raised floral patterns, holding a brilliant bouquet of marigolds, or cempasúchil.
These floral patterns are some of my favorites to recreate. Their ornament and texture bring the vase to life, while the marigolds add the vivid color and warmth associated with Dia de los Muertos.
The story of the marigold reaches back centuries and continues as a colorful reminder that some beliefs, including everlasting love, cannot be vanquished.
