Doorway to Tapalpa - Photography Print
Tapalpa is a colonial town situated in the mountains southwest of Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. Its origins began with the Otomi before the Spanish arrival in 1523. The town center is dominated by a cathedral built of bricks in 1650 and surrounded by a community filled with rows of businesses and homes of whitewashed stone and adobe, topped with terra cotta tiles. It is a picturesque Pueblo Mágico but it is the doorways that offer glimpses of individual, creative character.
This photo was taken on a family trip in 2024. We loved Tapalpa and our accommodations at La Casa de Maty. Such a beautiful place.
